I know Matteo from Blackmagic’s first release of Blackmagic tiny-terror-BMPCC4K and our first test with it around my hometown here in Italy. Matteo is an Italian Cinematographer who shot in different scenarios around the world during the latest years. From his first projects to today’s Features and Commercials, Matteo loves to keep the whole cinematography scenario simple and natural.
Upon his creation’s, Matteo started a reality called Buttery LUTs, where he provide Hybrid and Technical LUTs for Filmmakers and cinematographers – discover more on the website
The simplicity (and great usage of natural light) makes Matteo’s creations clean and at the same time professionally accurate. I think that while talking about Cinematography is always important to keep a focus on how light’s artistry craft might be keep simple and clean.
A thing that I find on tons of cinematographer’s craft, is how they drastically use too many emitters and sometimes wrong emitters from the wrong motivation.
On this side, Matteo is surely one of the Cinematographers that always take advantage of what’s already IN the shot, without adding the un-necessary into it.

Thanks again Matteo, and thanks to you for reading this article!
